Your patterns are real. So are the possibilities.

SACRED POSSIBILITIES

Engaging the Enneagram for
Spiritual Growth and Transformation

Amy L. McCabe

The Enneagram can help you see your patterns. Sacred Possibilities helps you live beyond them.

We spend our days achieving, helping, and holding it all together. Everything may look fine on the surface, yet underneath we can feel strangely disconnected from the life unfolding right in front of us. Often, that disconnection is rooted in patterns we cannot yet see.

That is where Sacred Possibilities begins—with something wildly hopeful: the patterns shaping our lives are not the whole story. Each of us bears the image of God. Those patterns can obscure that image, but they cannot erase it. The Enneagram brings deeply ingrained ways of seeing and responding into view. But knowing your type is only the beginning.

The real work happens when you catch a pattern as it is unfolding. Practices that engage the body, heart, and mind, along with reflection questions and Scripture, help you stay present in that moment instead of slipping automatically into the old response. Over time, those patterns loosen their grip, opening the way to peace, knowing your own worth, and courage in everyday life.

Transformation is not about becoming a better version of your type. It is about being present to the sacredness of your own life and living from the image of God you already carry.

Praise for Sacred Possibilities

Founder & Chief Content Creator, Your Enneagram Coach

"Amy McCabe beautifully integrates Scripture, contemplative practices, embodied awareness, and the Enneagram into a gentle invitation toward deeper spiritual formation. Her unique approach helps readers move beyond simply understanding themselves to becoming more attentive to God's gracious work within them."

Milton C. Stewart, MBA,
President,
International Enneagram Association

"Most Enneagram resources stop at the type description and call it growth. Amy understands the difference between information and transformation and has built a carefully constructed book around it. This is the Enneagram as it was meant to be used: as a doorway, not a destination."

Belinda Gore, PhD
Author, Finding Freedom: Understanding Our Relationships Using Object Relations & the Enneagram

"Because she holds us all as bearers of God’s image, embedded with divine qualities, she naturally integrates Scripture and contemplative practices into this beautiful gift to the Enneagram community."

About the Author

Amy L. McCabe, JD, MDiv, is a pastor, transformational coach, and spiritual director who leads retreats, workshops, and Enneagram-based formation work. She is an ICF Associate Certified Coach, a certified embodiment coach, and an International Enneagram Association Accredited Professional. For twenty years, she has studied the Enneagram and taught spiritual formation. Her work invites people to awaken to the sacredness of their own lives and see themselves and others as bearers of the image of God. She believes this way of seeing can free us for lives marked by joy and compassion—and equip us to bring the peace our world so deeply needs.

Before becoming a pastor and coach, Amy spent fifteen years as a trial lawyer in civil litigation. Trained as a mediator and restorative circles facilitator, she came to see that the conflicts we face on the outside often reveal those we carry on the inside. That awareness helped clarify her call toward spiritual formation and led her to earn a Master of Divinity from Western Theological Seminary.

Today, Amy brings together Scripture, spiritual formation, the Enneagram, and embodied practices. She works with individuals and groups, including leaders, clergy, professionals, churches, teams, and people navigating transition. Through her teaching and coaching, she helps people recognize the patterns that keep them stuck so they can live with more freedom and deeper connection to God, themselves, and others.
